Baby Phat by: Kimora Lee Simmons Kimora Lee Simmons was born in St. Louis Missouri. Kimora is Japanese, Korean, and American. Growing up, Kimora was always known as a "geek!" She was also known as the "giraffe." When she was 10 years old she was 5 foot 8 inches. That's my height now!! Because of the fact that Kimora grew up in a black community, and was like the only Asian girl attending her school, her mother enrolled her in a Modeling class when she was 11 years old. She was soon signed for Irene Marie Models. Two years later, she was awarded an exclusive modeling contract with Chanel just after her fourteenth birthday, she left for Paris to work for Chanel. By age 14, Kimora was 6 feet! Baby Phat launched in 1999. On December 20, 1998, Kimora married Russell Simmons. The two have two daughters. Ming Lee (born January 21, 2000) and Aoki Lee (born August 16, 2002). Both Ming and Aoki model for Baby Phat's Kids Collection. Kimora and Russell divorced in March 2006.
